2022 marked yet another strong season for Dalvin Tomlinson. Starting 13 games for the NFC North champion Minnesota Vikings, the defensive tackle finished his season with 2.5 sacks, 42 tackles, three tackles-for-loss, and 10 quarterback hits. The Vikings made the playoffs, but ultimately fell short to Tomlinson’s former team, the New York Giants, in the NFC Wild Card round.

Dalvin Tomlinson originally entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Selected by the New York Giants, the rookie made an immediate impact, starting all 16 games while recording one sack, 50 tackles, one tackle-for-loss, and one quarterback hit.

Tomlinson retained his starting role in 2018 and put up similar numbers to what he did as a rookie. Starting in all 16 games, the Alabama product finished the season with no sacks, 59 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, and no quarterback hits, as the defensive scheme required Tomlinson to take on blocks, eat up space, and free up others to make plays.

Tomlin’s pressure number picked up in the final year of the Pat Shurmur Era. Staring and appearing in all 16 games for the third straight year, the defensive tackle recorded 3.5 sacks, 49 tackles, seven tackles-for-loss, nine quarterback hits, and one forced fumble.

The Giants moved on from Shurmur following yet another disappointing 2019 season, yet Tomlinson maintained his usual efficiency under the third head coach of his New York tenure. Starting all 16 games, Tomlin recorded 3.5 sacks, 49 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss, and 10 quarterback hits.

After the season, Dalvin Tomlinson hit free agency and signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings. In 2021, the interior lineman recorded 2.5 sacks, 39 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, and seven quarterback hits in 16 games.
