Baltimore Ravens Trade Marquise Brown to Arizona Cardinals

Baltimore Ravens trade Marquise Brown to Arizona Cardinals. Brown will be reunited with his college teammate, Kyler Murray.

In a draft that has seen multiple trades early, some big news of the night came when the Baltimore Ravens agreed to trade Marquise Brown to the Arizona Cardinals. The deal saw the Ravens deal Brown and the 100th pick to the Cardinals so Arizona could move up to number 23 in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Arizona Cardinals Have Acquired Marquise Brown From Baltimore Ravens in a Trade

This move comes on the heels of the Cardinals picking up the fifth-year option on their quarterback Kyler Murray who will now make roughly $29 million in 2023. Murray and Hollywood Brown played together in college at Oklahoma and will now be reunited out west.

Murray seemed to be happy about the acquisition, based on this tweet.

In three NFL seasons with the Ravens, Brown had 195 receptions on 317 targets for 2,361 yards and 21 touchdowns. Last season, Brown, who is 24 and a former first-round selection, was Baltimore’s second-leading pass catcher. The 25th pick of the 2019 NFL Draft posted 91 catches for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns in the 2021 season.

With the loss of Christian Kirk, who signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars this off-season, and Murry apparently being unhappy with the organization, the Cardinals must have felt they needed to make a move. This will now pair Brown with former Clemson standout DeAndre Hopkins. But it leaves the Ravens even thinner at the wide receiver position. It is likely they address this and add to the receiver room during the draft, one that is deep in wideout talent.
