Mike Williams hits free agency on the heels of a career season. Appearing in 16 out of a possible 17 games, the Clemson product finished his fifth season in the league with career highs in receptions (76) and yards (1,146) while recording nine touchdowns, second only to his 2018 campaign. Working under a new offensive coordinator and coaching staff, Williams saw most of his production during the first half of the season. Through the first five weeks of the season, Williams was on pace for 105 receptions, 1,601 yards, and 20 touchdowns.

Mike Williams originally entered the league as a first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Selected by the Los Angeles Chargers, the Clemson product struggled to make an impact as a rookie. Appearing in 10 games while making one start, the receiver finished his first year in the league with just 11 receptions for 95 yards and no touchdowns.

Fortunately, despite the slow start, Williams proved that he belonged in the NFL during his second season. Appearing in all 16 games, the wideout recorded 43 receptions for 664 yards and 10 touchdowns on 66 targets. He built on that successful campaign in 2019, hauling in 49 receptions for 1,001 yards and two touchdowns while leading the league with 20.4 yards per reception.

Following the departure of Philip Rivers and the arrival of Justin Herbert, Williams had yet another strong season with the first-year quarterback. Appearing in 14 games, Williams recorded 48 receptions for 756 yards and five touchdowns while serving as the Chargers primary deep threat.

Throughout the course of his career, Mike Williams has recorded 227 receptions for 3,662 yards and 26 touchdowns on 393 targets. He has yet to earn a Pro Bowl selection but has been a productive NFL receiver throughout his time in the league.
