Melvin Gordon Reportedly Arrested for DUI

Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon has reportedly been arrested for a DUI and speeding late Tuesday night in Denver.

Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon has been arrested for a DUI and speeding, according to a report by Mike Klis of 9News. The report says that while driving under the influence, Gordon was ticketed for driving between 25 and 39 miles per hour over the speed limit. Gordon will be arraigned on November 13, and there is no comment from the Broncos at this time regarding Gordon’s status between now and then.

Melvin Gordon Arrested for DUI, Speeding

Add Melvin Gordon’s arrest to the long list of bad news for the Denver Broncos this year. They entered the season as a potential playoff team, but have been absolutely devastated by injuries thus far. Von Miller is out for the season, Drew Lock is dealing with a shoulder injury, Courtland Sutton tore his ACL, and the list goes on. Despite all the bad news, Gordon has been a rare bright spot on the team so far this season.

While fellow running back Phillip Lindsay has battled injuries, Gordon stepped up and has racked up 76 touches through the Broncos first four games of the season. Gordon has totaled 281 rushing yards so far with an average of 4.3 yards per carry. He has scored three rushing touchdowns and added one through the air as well.

Gordon is coming off his best game of the year, by far. Against the New York Jets in Week 4, he rushed for 107 yards on 23 attempts and found his way to the end zone twice. The Broncos didn’t have a game in Week 5, as their schedule was shuffled around due to the coronavirus issues with the New England Patriots. Now that game with New England will be played in Week 6, as Week 5 became Denver’s bye week. At this point, it is unclear whether the Broncos will be with or without the heart of their offense in that game.
