The Dallas Cowboys have one of the best wide receiver groupings in the league, with Amari Cooper leading the way. The former first-round pick has been a godsend to the Dallas Cowboys, recording 132 receptions for 1,914 yards and 14 touchdowns during his 25 games with the organization. The stud receiver is finally getting the respect he deserves, as Brad Kelly of Pro Football Network ranked him as the 8th best wide receiver in the league.

Kelly cites Cooper’s “elite route [running]” as the biggest strength and asset. The 2018 Cowboys struggled to do much of anything through the air early on, but quickly developed into one of the NFL’s better passing attacks with following the midseason acquisition of Cooper. The former Oakland Raider managed to build on his strong finish to 2018 by serving as the most reliable part of the Dallas passing attack in 2019. Of course, there was a little bit of drama when former head coach Jason Garrett benched Cooper for Tavon Austin during the waning moments of Week 16’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

There is no reason to suspect Cooper will slow down any time soon. After briefly testing free agency, the Cowboys re-signed the star receiver to a five-year, $100 million contract. While the Cowboys can easily get out of the arrangement in two seasons, he will be around for the foreseeable future.

The only receivers ranked above Cooper on Kelly’s list are Michael Thomas, Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, Mike Evans, Tyreek Hill, Chris Godwin, and Davante Adams. It’s hard to make a case against any of the aforementioned players, as each has established themselves among the NFL elite. While Cooper is probably a tier below Thomas, Jones, and Hopkins, he fits in well with Evans, Hill, Godwin, and Adams.
