Four-year NFL linebacker Kamalei Correa has signed a one-year $3.5 million dollar contract with the Tennessee Titans. The deal will lock Correa up through 2020 and it will be the second NFL team he has played for. Correa spent time as a rotational pass rusher with the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens while on his rookie deal.

As a 25-year-old in 2019, Correa racked up 37 combined tackles and five sacks while playing for the Titans. He also knocked down two passes. Correa entered the league in 2016 when he was drafted 42nd overall by the Ravens. He played sparingly in Baltimore before getting a bigger role after being traded to the Titans in exchange for a 6th round pick in 2019.

After playing just 197 snaps in his first two seasons with the Ravens, he would get a lot more playing time after coming to Tennessee. He played a total of 755 snaps in the past two seasons, 323 in 2018 and 432 in 2019. Pro Football Focus thought he was elite in pass defense in 2019, as he got a 90.3 coverage grade that year.

Back when he was playing for Boise State in college, Correa broke out in his sophomore season. As a sophomore in 2014, he accumulated 59 tackles and led the Mountain West with 12 sacks in 14 games. Correa had another solid performance in his junior year, as he lead his team with seven sacks. After the season, he won Defensive MVP of the Poinsettia Bowl, wrapping up a fine collegiate career.

Throughout the course of his professional career, Correa has played 54 games. In those 54 games, he has put up 4 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles, 8.5 sacks, 75 combined tackles, 52 solo tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and 11 QB hits. His highest PFF grade in his career came last season, in which he got a respectable 67.8 total defensive grade.
