Greg Olsen is headed to the Pacific Northwest to join the Seattle Seahawks. This according to a Tweet by NFL insider Adam Schefter. The free-agent tight end Greg Olsen will sign a one-year contract to join the Seattle Seahawks. The contract is for one year and seven million dollars with five and half of it guaranteed.
Greg Olsen, Seattle Seahawks Agree to Contract
Olsen spent time and negotiated with the Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks, and Washington Redskins before opting for Seattle. He will be paired with Will Dissly at tight end and be a target for Russell Wilson if he can stay healthy. The news comes on the heels of a report that Drew Brees will return for his 20th season with the Saints.

What does it mean for the Seahawks?
The Seahawks will be getting the services back of injured tight end Will Dissly. Dissly was having a very productive year before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury in week five. Prior to that injury, he was on pace for 88 catches, 1000 yards, and 16 touchdowns. He and Greg Olsen will make for a very solid 1-2 punch for the Seahawks and add options to an offense that badly needs them. When you have Russell Wilson under center, you need to give him weapons. He’ll have Greg Olsen, Will Dissly, D.K. Metcalf, and Tyler Lockette.
The key to Olsen being a productive member of the offense will be his ability to stay on the field. Greg Olsen is really injury-prone. He has been sidelined for extended periods due to injury. Most notably the past two years he’s been dealing with a foot injury that has seen his play greatly limited.
If he can stay healthy, he’s going to be a weapon for the Seahawks. He is a tremendous route-runner and has only four drops in the past four seasons. He’s always been an elite red-zone threat and will certainly help in that capacity for the Seahawks.
