Jacoby Brissett

13 weeks of NFL action are officially in the books, which means it’s time for the fantasy football playoffs. Whether you’re looking to take home a championship or just avoid coming in last, now is the time to search the waiver wire for all the best available quarterbacks. Heading into Week 14, you should set your eyes on Jacoby Brissett, Gardner Minshew, Kyle Allen, Drew Lockand David Blough.

Note that in order to make this list, the player had to be available in over 50% of fantasy leagues. If you’re in smaller leagues, there may be better players available. Make sure to check your waivers to see if there are any diamonds in the rough before submitting your claims.

Jacoby Brissett, Gardner Minshew Highlight Fantasy Football Week 14 Quarterback Waiver Wire Streams

Jacoby Brissett

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett hasn’t set the world on fire in fantasy, but he has the ability to take advantage of a favorable matchup. The Colts starter had a rough day in Week 13, throwing for 319 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against a solid Tennessee Titans defense. However, his favorable Week 14 matchup ensures he should be a safe, reliable streamer.

Brissett and the Colts face off against an atrocious Tampa Bay Buccaneers pass defense. Outside of Nick Foles, the Buccaneers haven’t been able to stop anything through the air. Brissett demonstrated the ability to take advantage of bad passing defenses throughout the season, and there aren’t any worse than the Buccaneers. Anything can happen on any given Sunday, but Brissett should finish the week as a low-end QB1.

Gardner Minshew

Minshew Mania is officially back…probably. Nick Foles has been atrocious since returning from the injured reserve, and the Jaguars benched the former Super Bowl MVP midway through Week 13’s loss. As of this posting, head coach Doug Marrone said that he won’t publicly name a starting quarterback until he talks with both Foles and Minshew. This isn’t something a coach would do if he wasn’t planning a change at quarterback. Barring something unexpected, Gardner Minshew should be Jacksonville’s starter going forward.

Minshew performed well during his first stint as Jacksonville’s starter and steadily improved with experience. He’s not going to give you top-five production the rest of the way, but he should be able to give you an adequate performance against a suspect Los Angeles Chargers defense.

Kyle Allen

Kyle Allen is a good backup, but he’s not a true franchise cornerstone. However, that doesn’t mean he can’t carry some value as a fantasy football streaming option. Even in an objectively poor performance against the Washington Redskins, Allen still managed to put up 278 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception to go along with an additional rushing score. The Panthers don’t have a good defense, which means Allen is going to have to throw early and often, racking up fantasy points in the process.

Allen and the Panthers face off against the Atlanta Falcons in what should be a shootout. After a two-week fluke, the Falcons once again have a terrible defense. Allen should be able to move the ball at will against the horrible secondary, and Matt Ryan should be able to keep pace with Carolina’s offense. This should be a high-scoring affair, which means good things for Allen’s fantasy value.

Deep Leagues: Drew Lock, David Blough

If you’re in a deep league, take a look at rookie quarterbacks Drew Lock and David Blough. Drew Lock made his long-anticipated debut against the Los Angeles Chargers and had an impressive outing. Likewise, David Blough put together a surprisingly-effective game against a strong Chicago Bears defense. Both players should be starting for the remainder of the season and can be good stashes in two-quarterback leagues. Lock has the higher ceiling, but both players made enough plays to create some fantasy intrigue for the remainder of the season.
