Defense Waiver Wire

12 weeks of NFL play are officially in the books, which means bye weeks are in full swing. With the fantasy football playoffs right around the corner, it’s time to search the waiver wire for the best available defense streams. Heading into Week 13, you should set your eyes on the

Carolina Panthers, Detroit Lions Highlight Fantasy Football Week 13 Defense Waiver Wire Streams

Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers do not have a good defense. Fortunately, you don’t need a good defense to stop the Washington Redskins. Dwayne Haskins finally picked up the first victory of his career, but this offense is still a dumpster fire. Haskins is still one of worst starters in the league, and his supporting cast isn’t doing him any favors. Bill Callahan’s run-first philosophy ensures the Redskins won’t put up many points, and Haskins’ inability to diagnose an NFL defense means that Carolina should rack up sacks and probably force a turnover or two.

Detroit Lions

The Lions are facing the Cincinnati Bengals, do I really need to write anything else. Even with Cordy Glenn back in town, Cincinnati still has the worst offense in the entire league. Ryan Finley is a fringe NFL level who would struggle to succeed in even the best situation. Unfortunately for Finley, he’s in the worst situation imaginable. A.J. Green probably won’t play this week, the offensive line is a mess, and Tyler Boyd is the best option in the passing game. The Lions proved they can limit a bad offense in Week 12, and that should continue into Week 13.

Los Angeles Chargers

Denver Broncos starting quarterback Brandon Allen has fallen back to Earth after a relatively impressive NFL debut in Week 9. Allen faced off against an above-average Buffalo Bills team and ended the night with just 82 passing yards and one interception. Allen is clearly a limited passer and the Los Angeles Chargers should have no problem taking advantage of Allen’s underwhelming traits.

There is a chance that the Broncos roll into this game with second-round rookie Drew Lock under center. Lock could be an upgrade on Allen, but he shouldn’t scare you away from starting the Chargers defense. The second-round pick was an undeveloped product coming out of school and looked absolutely atrocious in the preseason. Starting him will likely be trial by fire, so the Chargers should face a favorable matchup regardless of the quarterback.
