Fantasy Football Week 3 Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Claims: Demarcus Robinson, Deebo Samuel, More

Fantasy Football Week 3 Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Claims: Demarcus Robinson and Deebo Samuel are two of a few wide receivers who can help your fantasy team.
Wide Receiver Waiver Wire

The first two weeks of NFL action are in the books, and the fantasy football landscape is starting to take shape. After months of projection, the first one or two weeks of the season are the most crucial times to nail your waiver wire selections. There are a lot of good wide receiver options on the waiver wire, but Demarcus Robinson, Deebo Samuel, Terry McLaurin, and D.J. Chark are a cut above the rest.

Note that in order to make this list, the player had to be available in over 50% of fantasy leagues. If you’re in an eight-team league, make sure to check if someone like John Ross is rostered. If he’s not, then you should claim him over the following players.

Demarcus Robinson, Deebo Samuel Highlight Fantasy Football Week 3 Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Claims

Demarcus Robinson

There is no better job in this world than catching passes from Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes picked up right where he left off in 2018 and proved he doesn’t need Tyreek Hill to be the NFL’s most dangerous passer. With the Raiders doing everything in their power to take away Sammy Watkins, Robinson dominated Oakland’s overmatched secondary.

Demarcus Robinson is now a must-add in every fantasy football league. Mecole Hardman made a few nice plays, but Robinson saw should have more opportunities. Robinson has WR1 upside and should be a weekly start until Tyreek Hill returns to the field.

Deebo Samuel

Rookie wide receivers typically are a nightmare in fantasy football, but Deebo Samuel has a chance to break the mold. For the first time in a long time, San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo looks fully healthy. Garoppolo is at his best when he’s working the quick passing game, and Samuel is San Francisco’s best option in the short-passing game. Samuel sees the field as much as any receiver in San Francisco, and he’s going to be Jimmy Garoppolo’s preferred target in the passing game.

Deebo Samuel faces a favorable Week 3 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who can’t stop anybody with their underwhelming secondary. Joe Haden is the only cornerback of note, and he spends most of his time playing on the outside. Samuel should take advantage of this matchup and put up WR2 numbers against Pittsburgh.

Terry McLaurin

It wasn’t a one-week fluke, rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin is going to be the top option in the Washington Redskins passing attack. McLaurin is a talented player with two strong performances under his belt, but his ceiling is limited. Case Keenum is not a good quarterback, and the Washington Redskins do not have a good offense. McLaurin is subject to bust games due to his unfavorable surroundings, but he’s a talented player with some touchdown upside. If you’re in a deeper league, you can throw him into your flex spot.

D.J. Chark

Gardner Minshew might the internet’s favorite quarterback, but he still has a long way to go to be a starting-caliber passer. Still, despite Minshew’s shortcomings, D.J. Chark still managed to have a strong game against the Houston Texans. In total, Chark finished the night with seven receptions, 55 yards, and a touchdown on nine targets. He’s clearly Minshew’s favorite target and should have a decent Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans.
