Buffalo Bills Easiest Games of 2019

With training camp underway and the preseason fast approaching, Last Word on Pro Football is analyzing the schedules of all 32 NFL teams. Each team’s 16-game slate will be split into its most difficult (1-8) and easiest games (9-16). For this article, the Buffalo Bills easiest games of 2019 are under the microscope.

The toughest games on the Bills 2019 schedule.

Buffalo Bills Easiest Games of 2019

  1. Week 12: vs Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos are in the midst of an extensive roster overhaul, starting with the signing of quarterback Joe Flacco and the hiring of new coach Vic Fangio. Denver always possesses a strong defense, and that will be no different under defense-minded Fangio. The Bills best chance to win this game is to force Flacco into mistakes and set their offense up with short fields to work with. The Bills cannot be caught looking ahead to their Thanksgiving game against the Dallas Cowboys the following week, as this is a very winnable home game on their schedule.

  1. Week 17: vs New York Jets

A post-Christmas game in Buffalo to end the regular season. Get your warmest jackets, hats, and scarves because this game will likely be played in sub-zero temperatures. The most optimistic Bills fans will tell you that this game will be very meaningful, as a Wild Card berth and playoff seeding will be on the line in the finale. Either way, head coach Sean McDermott will have his boys fired up to end the season on a high note against a division rival.

11. Week Two: at New York Giants

This is a game that could be either great timing or bad timing to play their opponent. It is New York’s home opener and the crowd will certainly be raring to go. However, it will be interesting to see which Giants’wide receivers are healthy this early in the season as one after another have been injured in the preseason. If their receiving corps is still dealing with a lot of injuries in this game, look for Coach McDermott to stack the box and make someone other than Saquon Barkley beat them.

  1. Week One: at New York Jets

Another game against a New York team in their home opener, this time against their division rival to start the season. The Jets are 6-3 in their last nine home games against Buffalo, although the Bills played very well in a 41-10 victory last season at the Meadowlands. Matt Barkley started in place of an injured Josh Allen that game, and the Bills ran for 212 yards on their way to a comfortable victory.

13. Week 11: at Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins are undergoing a massive rebuild and should be one of the worst teams in the league in 2019. However, this game is not lower on the list because the heat and humidity can be very difficult for opposing players to deal with, and the Bills have looked worn down in the fourth quarter in many of their recent trips to Miami. There is not much the coaching staff can do to replicate those conditions, which makes the trip to Miami somewhat difficult no matter what type of product they put on the field.

  1. Week Nine: vs Washington Redskins

The biggest question is who will be the Redskins’ starting quarterback in Week Nine, between Colt McCoy, Case Keenum, or their first-round pick Dwayne Haskins. This is a great spot for the Bills as they will be playing their third consecutive home game. The Bills should be able to establish their power running game against a defense that ranked in the bottom half in rushing yards allowed per game last year.

  1. Week Seven: vs Miami Dolphins

For entertainment purposes, I really hope Ryan Fitzpatrick and not Josh Rosen is starting at quarterback for the Dolphins in Week seven. Bills Mafia would certainly give “Fitzmagic” a warm welcome in his return. The Bills are 6-1 at home against Miami since 2012. They will be coming off an early bye week for this contest and will be well-rested. This is a must-win type of game for Buffalo if they expect to compete for a playoff spot.

  1. Week Three: vs Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals should be competing with the Dolphins for the right to the number one draft pick in next year’s draft. Cincinnati’s offensive line is decimated by injuries, which will make it tough for running back Joe Mixon to find much daylight. Bills Mafia will be raucous for the team’s home opener, and you know there will be extra motivation to look crisp as New England comes to town the following week.
