Ja’Wuan James Signs With the Denver Broncos

Ja’Wuan James has signed a deal with the Denver Broncos. The deal is for four years worth 52 million with 32 million guaranteed. James had spent the first five years of his career with the Miami Dolphins.

Ja’Wuan James Signs New Contract With the Denver Broncos

In 2014, James was drafted 19th overall by the Dolphins. Since then, James has become a solid Right Tackle with 62 starts over the course of his NFL career.

Last season James and Left Tackle Laremy Tunsil formed an exciting, young duo but the Dolphins failed to sign James long turn as an Unrestricted Free Agent. As the Dolphins move in a new direction, so does James. He looks to grow upon his already promising career entering his sixth season with a new team.

The addition of James immediately bolsters the offensive line. James looks to earn his first Pro Bowl and help his team make the playoffs.

James has tremendous talent but has found it hard to play consistent and stay healthy. He has missed 18 games in his career. Despite that, his talent outweighs the issues especially at the age of 27 and coming off a great season. He only missed one game in the 2018 season, after missing half the entire 2017 season due to injury.

James is continuing to grow into the player many thought he would be as a First Round pick. His ability to both pass and rush block at a high level is extremely valuable to any offense. Sliding him right into the Right Tackle position, eliminates an immediate need for any offense.

James, born and raised in New Jersey, played high school football in the state of Georgia. He then earned a scholarship to the University of Tennessee. At Tennessee, James started 49 consecutive games at Right Tackle for the Volunteers. His streak of 49 consecutive games started is a school record.
