Marshawn Lynch had an unscheduled interview at OTAs this week. He was candid and to the point on why he decided to come out of retirement.
“When I found out they was leaving,” Lynch said.
Lynch has always been about “Town Business”. He grew up in Oakland, went to Oakland Tech High School, than got into Cal Berkeley. At the NFL level he had never had a chance to play, in Oakland, for Oakland though.
That will change September 17th when the Oakland Raiders host the Jets in their home opener.

Marshawn Lynch: Playing for Oakland Raiders a “Dream Come True”
While Lynch will be a part of an offense that includes Derek Carr, Michael Crabtree, Amari Cooper, and a star studded line, that was secondary to his real motivation.
“Knowing they was leaving…A lot of the kids here probably wont have an opportunity to see they idols [When the raiders leave],” the long time NFL running back uttered. “With me being from here, and continuing to be here…. [the kids] get to actually see someone who did it, from where they from, and for the team they probably idolize.”
It is this writer’s opinion that no matter how “great” Lynch is on the field, his legacy will be his work in Oakland off the field. His fam1stfamilyfoundation.org is just one of the many ways he gives back to his community. I see him working with local youths in Oakland long after the Raiders move to Las Vegas.
Being originally from Oakland myself, it is heart warming seeing this man use his stardom and financial resources to help the youth of Oakland. Without his football camps and mentor ship, some of these kids might never make it off the streets.
