Green Bay Packers Injuries Heading Into Dallas Matchup

Green Bay Packers Injuries: A look at the Packers injury situation as they head into their matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Green Bay Packers have dealt with injuries in the recent weeks. Their backfield has been banged up all season. The defensive backs have been a revolving door. Their receivers and even Aaron Rodgers have all been banged up at one point or another. It appears, however, that they may hit a bit of luck heading into possibly the toughest match-up of the playoffs. The Green Bay Packers injuries might be less of concern than they have as of late.

Injury Report

As of Wednesday’s injury report, it appears that both James Starks (concussion) and JC Tretter (knee) will not be active on Sunday. However, the big question marks come with Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and Quinton Rollins.

Jordy Nelson suffered several fractured ribs and a punctured lung in Sundays matchup against the New York Giants. Nelson spent that night in the hospital, but was able to return to Green Bay the following day. Not a lot has been released on whether or not to expect Nelson to suit up Sunday. Some reports state that he is a long shot, while others suggest he has a good chance. He missed practice Wednesday and isn’t expected to participate all week. He will need to log a practice Saturday in order to be active.

Randall Cobb has been battling an ankle injury every game for the second half of the season. Most will say that Cobb will be fine, as he submitted an excellent three touchdown game against the Giants. It doesn’t seem that Cobb had any setbacks so he should be good to go. However, Cobb has come back to play in a game, then sat out the following week. Expect him to play but keep an eye out.

Quinten Rollins missed last weeks playoff game and he winds up on the injury report again this week. Rollins is on the report for neck/concussion problems. He practiced in limited fashion on Wednesday and it seems he may be close to being able to play. Rollins is a big part of the Packers defensive backs. He appeared in 13 games, and started 10 this season, with just one interception.
