Jacob Perreault Signs Contract with Anaheim Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks have signed forward Jacob Perreault. He is their first-round, 27th overall pick from the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The Ducks have signed him to a 3-year entry-level deal.

Jacob Perreault Signs

The 5″11 192lb 18 old-year-old was born in Montreal, Quebec. He is the son of former NHL player Yanic Perreault. Jacob Perreault played for Sarnia Sting in the OHL  throughout the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons and put up 69 goals and 56 assists for 125  points in 120 career games.

As the 19th overall pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection Draft, he recorded 30 goals and 25 assists to give him a total of 55 points. This helped him earn a spot on the OHL first all-rookie team that year at the age of 16. Becoming just the fifth to reach 30 goals since a list of talent at that age. That same year, Jacob finished with five game-winning goals and was second in goals, as well tied second for power-play goals.

Last season he finished with 40 penalty minutes and a minus 34, the kid knows how to score though, tallying 39 goals and 31 assists for 70 points which put him 10th in the league for scoring and second in the league for points. 15 of those goals happened to be power-play goals as this kid has a great shot and knows how to use the one-timer very well.

Going Forward

The Ducks are getting a right-handed forward who is not exactly big and strong but not afraid to play with physicality. The 18-year-old has an elite shot. Whether its his superb one-timer slap shot or his backhand. He had an 18.8 shooting percentage and can do wonders on the power play. This is someone the Ducks will look forward to having on their roster in years to come. They should be able to count on him to add goals during even strength and on the power play.
