The Florida Panthers announced that starting-goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is still ruled day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Only minutes before the start of Sunday’s afternoon tilt against the Calgary Flames, the Panthers announced that back-up goalie Sam Montembeault would get the start. At the start of the day, goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky was set to start in between the pipes. Unfortunately, he tweaked something in his lower-body during pre-game warmups.
So far this season, Bobrovsky has played in 50 games. In those games, Bob has been playing better as of late. In that time Bob has maintained a 23-19-6 record, with a .900 save percentage and 3.23 goals-against average.
Over his ten-year NHL career, Bobrovsky has played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and now the Florida Panthers. In those ten years, he has played in 507 career games. Playing well through those games he has a 278-172-43 record. Also in those games, Bob has posted a .917 save percentage and a 2.54 goals-against average.
What This Means for the Future
Moving forward, it seems things have definitely gone from bad to worse for the Florida Panthers. With only 16 games left in the season, the Panthers are still on the outside looking in. It seems the Panthers were not informed that the All-Star break is over. Since then, they have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the league.
With a 5-10-2 record since the midseason break, 0-6-1 at home since January 16th, the Panthers sit 11th in Eastern Conference and five points back of a Wild Card position. Unless some miracle happens this last stretch of the season, the Florida Panthers will miss the playoffs for the 21st time out of the franchise 26 seasons.
On the brighter side of things, goaltender Chris Driedger is returning from his brief conditioning loan in the AHL. The Panthers are off until Thursday where they will host the league-leading Boston Bruins.
