The Columbus Blue Jackets College Prospect Gavin Brindley Signs his ELC

The Columbus Blue Jackets have an exciting announcement as forward Gavin Brindley signs with the club. Brindley is coming off a year as a First Team All-American with the University of Michigan Wolverines. Furthermore, this announcement states he is signing his standard, three-year entry level (ELC) with the organization.

Forward Gavin Brindley Signs out of NCAA with Columbus Blue Jackets

Brindley, 19, is just coming off his Sophomore campaign with the Wolverines. This announcement comes on the heels of his former Michigan teammate, Frank Nazar, who just signed with the Chicago Blackhawks and scored his first NHL goal. Also, last year’s team was pretty stacked. That edition of the team also included Adam Fantilli, Luke Hughes, and Rutger McGroarty. No wonder Brindley didn’t score more during his Freshman year. The 2023 squad lost in the semifinals to the eventual NCAA Frozen Four Championships Quinnipiac. In addition, Brindley’s 2024 team shared a similar fate, except the team that beat them in this year’s semifinals, Boston College, lost in this finals.

What Will this Mean for Brindley and the Team in Ohio

Brindley had a successful season in 2023-24 from a statistical standpoint. That is even more exciting since he is more so considered a defensive player. Moreover, he could very well add to that aspect of the Blue Jacket forward group. That group has a lot of talent. Once they figure out how to roll their lines, they will be a talented you group to watch.

As Gavin Brindley signs, as mentioned he is coming off a solid year offensively. 53 points through 40 games, decent. Last year he was nearly a point-a-game player. One last nice stat, was from the 2024 World Junior Championships with the gold medallists from Team USA. He had six tucks, ten points, through seven tournament games. The Columbus Blue Jackets organization, including potential linemates will be looking forward to watch him play every night.
