NHL Predictions
New York Islanders vs Florida Panthers
Head-to-Head: Islanders 1-1 Panthers
TV: MSGSN; Bally Sports Florida; ESPN+
Our opening game of NHL predictions has the New York Islanders trying to stay in the fight for a Stanley Cup Playoff spot. However, the Isles will have to play a very good Florida Panthers team. Ilya Sorokin is the confirmed starter for New York, which is 3-6-1 in the last 10 games. The Islanders looking to break a four-game road losing streak. Brock Nelson has scored 28 goals with 31 assists for the Islanders. Bo Horvat has five goals and five assists over the past 10 games.
Sergei Bobrovsky is the expected starter for Florida, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Panthers are 4-5-1 and coming off a loss to the Boston Bruins the last time out. Carter Verhaeghe has 34 goals and 36 assists for the Panthers. Sam Reinhart has seven goals and three assists over the past 10 games. Reinhart’s play the last few games has allowed him to cross the 50-goal threshold for the first time in his career.
The Isles are in desperation mode, but the Panthers are a little annoyed letting a game against the Bruins slip away.
Prediction: Panthers win 4-2.
Nashville Predators vs Arizona Coyotes
Head-to-Head: Predators 1-2 Coyotes
TV: Bally Sports South; Scripps; ESPN+
The red-hot Nashville Predators roll into the desert to play the Arizona Coyotes in this one. Nashville is expected to go with Juuse Saros in between the pipes, but this could be a chance to give Kevin Lankinen a start. The Predators have gotten points in the last 18 games with a 16-0-2 mark. Nashville has won its last six games during this recent run. Filip Forsberg has 40 goals and 41 assists for the Predators. Luke Evangelista has scored four goals and added two assists over the past 10 games.
Connor Ingram is the projected starter for the Coyotes, who are 5-5 in the last 10 games. Staying out of the box is key as the Coyotes have a 10-19-5 record in games they have more penalties than their opposition. Matias Maccelli has 12 goals and 36 assists for the Coyotes. Leading goal-scorer Clayton Keller has eight goals and three assists over the past 10 games.
It’s tough to bet against Nashville at this point, so we’re not going to.
Prediction: Predators win 5-3.
Dallas Stars vs Vancouver Canucks
Head-to-Head: Stars 1-1 Canucks
TV: Bally Sports Southwest; Sportsnet Pacific; ESPN+
Our featured game has the Dallas Stars looking to make it six straight games as they play the Vancouver Canucks. Jake Oettinger is the likely starter for the Stars in this game. Dallas is 40-8-5 when scoring three or more goals. Matt Duchene has 24 goals and 38 assists for the Stars. Jason Robertson has five goals and nine assists over the last 10 games.
Casey DeSmith is the probable starter once again for Vancouver with Thatcher Demko still being out. The status of Elias Lindholm is also under some doubt with him missing the last game against the Los Angeles Kings. J.T. Miller has netted 34 goals with 57 assists for the Canucks. Quinn Hughes has one goal and 10 assists over the past 10 games.
Dallas has been red-hot and the injuries cause concerns for Vancouver.
Prediction: Stars win 4-1.
