Veteran Winger Lands New Contract With The Dallas Stars

Evgenii Dadonov has a new contract in place. Dadonov has signed with the Dallas Stars and is locked in for the next two years. In addition, he will have an AAV of $2.25 million per season. The veteran winger continues his journey in a permanent spot.

Dadonov Signs New Contract With Dallas

The Evgenii Dadonov contract is great. It can come with peace of mind knowing he has a permanent home. Dadonov spent the last year split between the Montreal Canadiens and the Dallas Stars. Once the trade was complete, he found new life under head coach Pete DeBoer.

He was an original draft pick of the Florida Panthers back in the 2007 NHL Draft. Safe to say he has miles on his legs and years of hockey experience. Dadonov scored four goals, 14 assists, and 18 points with Montreal. Furthermore, he had 15 points with Dallas in just 23 games. The move helped elevate his game as he has played under DeBoer before. Dadonov is a steady middle-six winger with an offensive upside. In addition, he has hit the 60-point plateau once as well as a career-high of 70. In the right system and right coach, those buttons can be pushed.

What This Contract Means

The Evgenii Dadonov contract makes sense. Dallas got a good glimpse of what he can do in a good offensive system. Dadonov gets to be a complimentary piece on a good hockey team. He has proven he can be a timely goal scorer and an efficient passer. Dadonov brings more to the table with his ability to finish his checks and work along the boards. Depth is important to have and Dadonov can be that type of depth that the Stars are looking for. Good for Dadonov finding his security as well as the team shoring up their depth.
