Anaheim Ducks Part Ways With Head Coach

After the breaking news coming from the Pittsburgh Penguins, another club has wasted no time planning for next season. The Anaheim Ducks will make a coaching change. Dallas Eakins will bit have his contract renewed and will seek employment elsewhere. Anaheim is coming off one of its worst seasons and was bad across the board.

Dallas Eakins Will Not Return

The Anaheim Ducks had one of their worst seasons to date. It is a new era of hockey in Anaheim now that Ryan Getzlaf has retired. Parting ways with Dallas Eakins makes sense. Eakins has been behind the bench for the past four season. He finishes his tenure with a record of 100-147-44.  In addition, this comes out to a .419 points percentage. The move makes sense and the time has come for a new voice. Simply put, the Anaheim Ducks were not good. Here is a painted picture of how bad it was in Anaheim this year.

Anaheim finished last in the conference and last in the division. However, they have the best idea to land Connor Bedard. That’s the only positive.

Is Coaching Anaheim Enticing

With Dallas Eakins out the door, a new coach will take the reigns. Sure this team was really bad this season, but there is a desire to want to coach this club. If the club does indeed land Connor Bedard, it will add to a youthful core they have. Anaheim boasts youthful talent in Trevor Zegras, Mason McTavish, Jamie Drysdale, and Troy Terry. Despite the year being so down, they were all bright spots. In addition, John Gibson showed flashes of his former self and strung together some brilliant games. Anaheim also has a good veteran presence with Cam Fowler still around.

A new coach will be good to help this young team take the next jump and play more competitive hockey.
