NHL Rumours

Logan Stanley Seeks Trade

Rumour: Bally’s Midwest Blues reporter Andy Strickland said the big Jets blueliner has asked for a trade. The Kitchener, Ontario has only played in 13 games this season for the Jets. He has spent most of this season not in the lineup and only averages 13:25 in ice time when he plays. Stanley is 6-foot, 7-inches and the Jets loved his size when they took him in the 2016 NHL Draft at 18th overall.

Strickland added that there’s no guarantee that general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff will part with the large defender. Stanley’s best season was last year when he got 13 points in 58 games. He was a solid player in juniors in the OHL with the Windsor Spitfires and Kitchener Rangers.

Can a Logan Stanley Trade Happen?

It seems like Stanley hasn’t been able to crack the lineup, so it’s fair that he wants to move. A change of scenery could be just what the 24-year-old needs in order to restart his career. General managers might like his size and be willing to give him an opportunity to make it into the second or bottom pair.

Winnipeg’s defensive situation seems set with one of the best teams in the league when it comes to goals allowed. The Jets could at least get some kind of pick for Stanley should they deal him. However, they may hold onto him and not qualify him when he becomes a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
