Kraken Getting Carson Soucy Trade Calls

Rumour: The Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli has the Viking, Alberta native listed as eighth on his trade board that was released Thursday. Teams have called about the 6-foot, 5-inch defenceman and the Kraken have at least listened to the calls. Soucy currently makes $2.75 million and could be a good cheap option for a contender.

The 28-year-old has been moving between the second and third pair. Soucy is set to be an unrestricted free agent and he might not be in Seattle’s future plans. The Kraken seem to be in a comfortable spot in the Stanley Cup Playoff spot. Seattle seems to be just fine and are well on their way to their first appearance in the postseason.

Will a Carson Soucy Trade Happen?

The Kraken would love nothing more than to get a first-round pick for Soucy at the deadline. General manager Ron Francis knows this year’s coming draft class is a good one. Getting an extra pick in a loaded draft would be a good thing for Seattle.

Soucy is a big body and would be good for a contender that could be physical. The veteran blueliner would be a great addition and the Kraken would be smart to trade Soucy if they get the right offer. Francis is going to get calls and he may just have to take a team up on the right offer.
