NHL Rumours: Patrick Kane Trade

Update on Patrick Kane Trade

Rumour: A number of sources have given an update on a possible Kane deal. TSN’s Insider Trading looked into the superstar player waiving his no-movement clause. Pierre LeBrun said that agent Pat Brisson gave an update on if Kane will waive that in order to facilitate a deal. Brisson said a decision will be coming relatively soon on if he’s willing to be traded. LeBrun added that teams have 7-10 days to make their pitch if Kane does decide to get dealt.

David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period said that the Dallas Stars and New York Rangers are among the teams that Kane would be willing to go to at the deadline. This is in addition to a Mario Tirabassi report that Kane has gotten a list of teams from his agent that would love to acquire him.

What a Patrick Kane Trade Means

This is the big name that could be out there if he does decide to waive his no-movement clause. Teams are going to have to put together a monster package in order to get the American forward’s services. Chicago wants a large haul that involves players, prospects and picks. Getting Kane could be a game-changer in the pursuit of the Stanley Cup. The Stars or the Rangers would likely become an even more formidable team if either club were to acquire him.

However, Kane has also earned the right to stay put in Chicago and wait to hit the free-agent market. The Buffalo native will have plenty of suitors that will line up to pay him a pretty penny to get him. Kane still has some offensive touch this season, but only has nine goals this season. However, he could be recharged with heading over to a contender. The game will be on if Kane waives his no-trade clause.
