We are getting closer to the Midway point of the season. For the most part, teams have an idea of where they are at and what the rest of the year looks like. As a fan, it has been fun to watch, and as the trade deadline draws closer, the rumour mill keeps churning. One team is thriving thanks to a large part of their top six. But today’s rumours focus on the struggling player on that same team, which involves the Edmonton Oilers and a possible Jesse Puljujarvi trade.
Jesse Puljujarvi Trade Could Happen Sooner Rather Than Later
Rumour: Elliotte Friedman discusses the possibility of a Jesse Puljujarvi trade by the Edmonton Oilers.
Friedman on 32TP says Edmonton has tried to move Jesse Puljujärvi but teams have not made offers that the Oilers felt were fair due to his lack of production, but after his recent comments they may have no choice but to trade him for the best possible deal they can get right now.

It has been a rollercoaster ride for Jesse Puljujarvi and the Edmonton Oilers. The kid spent time overseas and made his return and still has not panned out the way they would want him to. Considering the team is carried in large parts by Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, depth scoring is needed. It has not been provided even by him. Seeing him being traded has been a thing for a while, and now it could happen sooner than later.
What His Value Is

Even Puljujarvi himself is not high on himself. According to Friedman, the Oilers have not received an offer close to what they would like to receive. However, the front office thought that was fair based on his production for this season. Now the club could be forced to just take the best offer they receive. In 27 games this season, he has one goal, five assists, and six points. Whatever the Oilers did want, they may not get unless the production rises. Now, a Jesse Puljujarvi trade is almost inevitable.
A Change Of Scenery Is Needed
Puljujarvi could benefit from a change of scenery. Last year showed promise of a career year but has never reached the 20-goal mark. The potential has been there in his game but has never come to fruition. Edmonton is starved for production in the bottom six and Puljujarvi has one goal in his last 20 games. Given his age, he would be a welcomed addition to a club willing to take a chance on the young forward.
