Gabriel Landeskog Out The Next Three Months
Colorado Avalanche Gabriel Landeskog is out for the next 12 weeks. Already pegged to miss the season, he will now miss up to three months. Landeskog underwent knee surgery and had a long recovery time ahead.
Colorado Suffers The Blow
This situation differs from the Ekblad situation. Landeskog is a leader, and his style of play will be missed. He had one of his strongest seasons last year with 30 goal and 29 assists in only 51 games played. Landeskog was a key piece in winning the Stanley Cup as well. However, Colorado has the depth up front and the production to stay afloat while Landeskog is on the shelf. Led by superstar centre Nathan Mackinnon, the offensive attack will be fine. The complimentary pieces in Valeri Nichushkin, Mikko Rantanen, and Artturi Lehkonen help spear head the attack. Let’s also not forget offensive wizard Cale Makar is on the back end. Colorado ranks fourth in goals scored (14), and ranks 12th in Corsi For Percentage (52.48).
The Avs Going Forward
Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog will be done for three months. He is a large part of their success, but the team will be okay going forward. Landeskog could be looking at a return in the middle of January. Until then, they will look to maintain a top-three spot in the Central Division. It seems to be competitive as the Dallas Stars are a different-looking team aiming to dethrone the champs.
