Veteran forward Oliver Bjorkstrand contract details have been finalized. He didn’t end up back with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Instead, he’s off to hopefully find greener pastures. Today it was announced that he has signed a deal with the New York Rangers. Bjorkstrand, who was originally traded to the Seattle Kraken in 2022 after a productive stint with the Columbus Blue Jackets, found his way to Tampa Bay in a strategic acquisition that paid immediate dividends. His arrival injected a fresh burst of scoring and playmaking into the Lightning’s top-six forward group. Throughout his career, Bjorkstrand has consistently demonstrated an ability to find the back of the net and contribute offensively, often exceeding expectations. His 28 goals and 29 assists for 57 points in the 2021-22 season with the Blue Jackets highlighted his potential, a potential that the Lightning have expertly leveraged.
