Our second game of NHL predictions has the Colorado Avalanche going for the season sweep against the Washington Capitals. Colorado is likely to give Mackenzie Blackwood the start in goal for this game. The Avs are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games and were the first team to clinch a Stanley Cup Playoff spot. Nathan MacKinnon is putting up Hart Trophy numbers with 45 goals and 69 assists for 114 points.

Logan Thompson is the projected starter for Washington, which is 5-4-1 in the last 10 games. This includes a two-game winning streak heading into this afternoon matchup. Alex Ovechkin and Tom Wilson have the same stat line with 25 goals, 27 assists, and 52 points.

Colorado has clinched a postseason. However, it still has plenty to play for and should get the win.

Prediction: Avalanche win 4-2.
