We open up NHL predictions with an afternoon matchup between the New Jersey Devils and the Winnipeg Jets. New Jersey is expected to go with Jacob Markstrom in this game. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Devils are struggling with a 3-6-1 record in their last 10 games, including three consecutive losses. Jesper Bratt leads the team in assists (24) and points (33) so far this season.

Connor Hellebuyck is the projected starter for the Jets, who stopped an 11-game losing streak by defeating the Los Angeles Kings on Friday night. However, the win is a temporary reprieve for a club that’s 1-6-3 in their previous 10 games. Winnipeg has gone from the best team in the league to being the worst this season. Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor are tied for the team’s lead in points with 52.

Both teams are struggling in recent games. However, New Jersey gets the victory in this one.

Prediction: Devils win 3-2.
