Our second game of NHL predictions is an Atlantic Division battle between the Detroit Red Wings and the Montreal Canadiens. Detroit has confirmed John Gibson as the team’s starter for this matchup. The Red Wings are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, including wins in its last two games. Patrick Kane recently hit the 500-goal mark to become the 10th American player to reach that milestone.

Jakub Dobes is the probable starter for the Canadiens, who are 7-1-2 in their previous 10 games. Montreal has taken five of its last six games and currently holds first place in the Atlantic Division. Alexandre Texier has eight points in his last 10 games, including a hat trick against the Florida Panthers in the Habs’ last victory.

Both teams have made strides this season and should be in the Stanley Cup Playoff mix. However, Montreal gets the victory at home.

Prediction: Canadiens win 5-3.
