Our second and featured game of NHL predictions is a Central Division battle between the Colorado Avalanche and the Minnesota Wild. Mackenzie Blackwood is the likely starter for the Avalanche, who are 8-1-1 in their previous 10 games. Colorado has only lost twice in regulation so far this season. Nathan MacKinnon leads the way in goals (28), assists (31), and points (59) so far this season.

Jesper Wallstedt is the confirmed starter for the Wild, who are 8-2 in their last 10 games. Minnesota has rattled off seven consecutive victories entering this important divisional game. Quinn Hughes has been a tremendous addition to the club with a 4-0 record so far. Matt Boldy leads the team in goals (22) and points (43).

This could shape up to one of the more important games of the early season. However, Colorado gets the victory.

Prediction: Avalanche win 4-3.
