Our second game of NHL predictions is an Original Six battle between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Montreal Canadiens. Spencer Knight is the likely starter for the Blackhakws, who are 3-6-1 in their last 10 games. Chicago has also dropped five of its last six games. Leading scorer Connor Bedard is out for the rest of the month, which means players like Tyler Bertuzzi will be asked to do more.

Jakub Dobes is the projected starter for the Canadiens, who are 4-5-1 in their previous 10 games. Montreal did beat Chicago, 3-2, thanks to a late goal by Kaiden Guhle. The Habs have struggled to keep pucks out of the net with a 3.48 goals allowed per game average. Cole Caufield is tops on the team in goals with 17 so far.

Chicago doesn’t seem like the same team without Bedard, and Montreal should take advantage of that.

Prediction: Canadiens win 4-2.
