Our second game of NHL predictions is a Metropolitan Division matchup between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Washington Capitals. Carolina is expected to give the start to Frederik Andersen in goal for this game. The Canes come into this game with a 5-4-1 record in the previous 10 games. Seth Jarvis leads the team in goals with 17, but Sebastian Aho is tops in assists (17) and points (26).

Logan Thompson is the probable starter in goal for Washington, which is 8-1-1 in the previous 10 games. The Capitals have taken seven of their last eight games prior to this divisional matchup. Tom Wilson is first in goals (17) and points (32) so far this campaign.

These rivalry games are always tough to gauge. However, Washington has plenty of momentum heading into this game.

Prediction: Capitals win 4-3.
