How to Watch:
U.S. TV: Monumental Sports Network; ESPN+
Canada TV: TSN2; RDS
Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EDT)
We have a Stanley Cup Playoff rematch as the Washington Capitals visit the Montreal Canadiens. Charlie Lindgren is the confirmed starter with Logan Thompson starting on Wednesday night against the Edmonton Oilers. The Capitals were 3-5-2 heading into the matchup against the Oilers. Tom Wilson leads the team in goals (9) and points (18) heading into Wednesday’s game.
Sam Montembeault has been tabbed to get the start in net for the Candiens. Montreal is 4-3-3 in the last 10 games, but that does include four consecutive defeats. The Habs are looking for some kind of spark to turn things around. However, injuries have been a problem as of late. Captain Nick Suzuki is averaging over a point per game with 21 in 19 games played so far.
Montreal has been off its game, but should take advantage of a Washington team traveling and having played the night before.
Prediction: Canadiens win 3-2.
