NHL Predictions

Montreal Canadiens vs Philadelphia Flyers

Head-to-Head: Canadiens 0-0 Flyers

TV: Sportsnet; RDS; NBC Sports Philadelphia; ESPN+

Our first game of NHL predictions as the Montreal Canadiens take on the Philadelphia Flyers. Cayden Primeau is the confirmed starter for the Habs, who have won two of the last three games. Montreal has gotten some last as the team’s last game was on Saturday night. The Canadiens are in the 20s in goals for, goals allowed, penalty kill and power play percentage. However, the team has an exciting core, but has been hit with injuries. Nick Suzuki leads in goals and assists for the team.

Carter Hart is the expected starter, but always check social media before locking in a fantasy starter. Could this game be the first appearance of Jamie Drysdale in a Flyers sweater? Travis Konecny leads in goals with 21 while Travis Sanheim has 21 assist for the Flyers. Philadelphia has struggled at times to score, but is eighth in goals allowed.

Montreal is rested, but the advantage in goal gives them the edge.

Prediction: Flyers win 4-2.

Minnesota Wild vs Dallas Stars

Head-to-Head: Wild 0-2 Stars

TV: TNT; Max

In the Norm Green War, the Minnesota Wild take on the Dallas Stars. Both teams are having issues winning games as of late. Minnesota has lost four of the last five games and is expected to go with Marc-Andre Fleury in goal. The Wild have struggled to score in the last four games with only scoring more than a goal in three games. Joel Eriksson Ek leads the team with 15 goals.

The Dallas Stars have lost three of the last five games and have also been dealing with injuries. Miro Heiskanen and Jake Oettinger are both out week-to-week and they’ve been missed in the lineup. Roope Hintz leads the team in goals while Jason Robertson is tops in assists. Scott Wedgewood is the likely starter and he’s been carrying the load since the Oettinger injury.

Dallas does have a strong defence and that will carry it through.

Prediction: Stars win 3-2.

Colorado Avalanche vs Vegas Golden Knights

Head-to-Head: Avalanche 0-1 Golden Knights

TV: TNT; Max; Altitude

Our featured game of NHL predictions has the Avalanche trying to erase a 7-0 drubbing by the Golden Knights earlier in the season. Jack EIchel leads the team in goals with 18 and Mark Stone is tops in assists with 27. Adin Hill is the expected starter for the Golden Knights, who have lost three of its last five games. Vegas is eighth in goals against so far this campaign.

Colorado has won four of the last five games and will likely go with Alexandar Georgiev in the blue paint. The Avalanche has won four of the last five games and may be getting back on track. Nathan MacKinnon is closing in one 70 points already with 22 goals and 44 assists so far this season. The Avalanche have gotten better thanks to their eighth-ranked power play and 10th-rated penalty kill.

No one saw the blowout coming in the previous matchup earlier in the year. Colorado seems to be getting back on track after some hiccups earlier in the season.

Prediction: Avalanche win 5-3.
