NHL Predictions

Ottawa Senators vs Columbus Blue Jackets

Head-to-Head: Senators 0-0 Blue Jackets

TV: Bally Sports Ohio; TSN5; ESPN+

Our featured and opening game of NHL predictions has the Senators trying to stop a two-game slide. Ottawa will go with former Columbus goalie Joonas Korpisalo in between the pipes. The Senators have given up five goals each in the last two games. Ottawa is eighth in goals allowed, but 29th in goals scored. Special teams has also been a problem for coach D.J. Smith‘s men. Brady Tkachuk leads in goals with 10 while Tim Stutzle has 17 assists.

Elvis Merzlikins will likely be opposing his former friend in Korpisalo. However, always check social media before locking in a fantasy goalie. Columbus is coming off a 4-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens last time out. The Jackets are 15th in goals scored, but 29th in goals allowed. Boone Jenner is tops in goals with 11 while Zach Werenski has 15 assists.

Ottawa is hungry for a win and their a little more defensively sound.

Prediction: Senators win 4-2.

San Jose Sharks vs New Jersey Devils

Head-to-Head: Sharks 0-0 Devils

TV: NBC Sports California; MSGSN; NHL Network

Our last game of NHL predictions has the San Jose Sharks taking on the New Jersey Devils. Kaapo Kahkonen will draw the start for San Jose, which saw its modest two-game winning streak snapped last time out. The Sharks are last in the league in goals for and goals allowed. Mike Hoffman leads the team in goals and could be in position to become a trade piece and the deadline.

Vitek Vanecek is the projected starter in goal for the Devils, who have three straight wins. New Jersey’s offence has awakened with at least four goals a game during this recent run. Tyler Toffoli is tops in goals with 12 while Jack Hughes has 21 assists so far this season. The Devils are number one on the power play with a 35.6 percent success rating.

New Jersey is back to scoring goals and that means trouble for the rest of the league.

Prediction: Devils win 6-2.

Prop Bet of the Night

We’ll stay with the Devils game and we like them getting the over on 0.5 power play goals tonight. Also, throw a prop at Jack Hughes getting the over on 1.5 points tonight as well.
