Our opening game of NHL predictions has the Montreal Canadiens taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Habs won the first meeting 4-3 earlier in the season. Cole Caufield continues to lead the Canadiens offence with six goals and 11 assists.

The Blue Jackets are coming off a surprising 5-2 win over the Boston Bruins the last time out. Columbus has won three of its last five games and have been pretty solid at both ends of the ice. Elvis Merzlikins is the projected starter, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy goalie. Boone Jenner (11 goals) and Zach Werenski (14 assists) are leading the way on offence for the Jackets.
Montreal is an exciting team, but Columbus has been playing some better hockey as of late.
Prediction: Blue Jackets win 4-3.
Detroit Red Wings vs New York Rangers
Head-to-Head: Red Wings 0-1 Rangers
TV: TNT; Max
Our featured game of today’s NHL predictions has the Red Wings looking to keep up their three-game winning streak. Detroit did recently bring in Patrick Kane, but there’s no work on if he’ll be ready for tonight’s game. Ville Husso is the confirmed starter in goal for the Red Wings. Kane and DeBrincat are reunited and it may feel so good. Dylan Larkin has been solid as a setup man for the Wings.
The Rangers are coming off a bad game against the Buffalo Sabres the last time out. However, the Blueshirts have been solid after a bad performance. Igor Shesterkin is the expected starter in between the pipes for New York. which tightens up on defence after a bad game. Chris Kreider leads the team in goals and Adam Fox may return to the lineup.
Both teams are looking like Stanley Cup Playoff contenders. However, the Rangers are solid after a bad game.
Prediction: Rangers win 4-2.
Washington Capitals vs Los Angeles Kings
Head-to-Head: Capitals 0-0 Kings
TV: Monument Sports; Bally Sports ; ESPN+
Our final game of NHL predictions has the Washington Capitals trying to stop a two-game skid. The Capitals lost a 2-1 game to the San Jose Sharks last time out. Darcy Kuemper is the projected starter in goal for Washington. Dylan Strome leads the team in goals with eight while John Carlson has 10 assists.
Los Angeles is coming in with wins in its last five games and Cam Talbot is the projected starter. The Kings are first in goals allowed and fourth in goals scored. Trevor Moore is tops in goals with 11 while Kevin Fiala has 14 assists. The Kings haven’t given up more than two goals in a game during this five-game stretch.
It’s been a tough road trip for the Capitals and the Kings aren’t going to be the nice hosts.
Prediction: Kings win 3-1.
Prop Bet of the Night
We’ll go back to the featured game of NHL predictions and the returning Adam Fox. He’s a key cog in the Rangers offence and we feel he’ll fit back into the lineup. We like Fox getting the over on 0.5 assists tonight for the Rangers against the Red Wings.
