New Jersey Devils Extend Forward For Eight Years

Tom Fitzgerald and the New Jersey Devils have crossed one free agent off their list. A Jesper Bratt contract is official. The winger is staying put for the next eights and will have an AAV of $7.875 million. This is a great deal for both Bratt and the franchise from now on.

Jesper Bratt Signs Contract With New Jersey

This Jesper Bratt contract is a sigh of relief. Fitzgerald and the fan base watched as the process took much longer than it did this go-round. After betting on himself, Bratt secured his pay raise. He has spent his entire young career with the Devils. To start, he was a consistent 30-point player. However, he went on to pop off for two straight 70+ point seasons. Bratt went on to set a career-high in goals this season (32) and tied his point totals (73). It was no fluke that he went on to pop off and he showed that as well. However, his playoff showing was more disappointing but the experience was worth it for him and the young group. Bratt has established himself as a core player and this contract signals that.

The Future Is Bright

Finally, the Jesper Bratt contract is official. The future in New Jersey is bright. This core group is led by young promising talent. Captain Nico Hischier and centre Jack Hughes lead the way. Not to mention on the back end is Dougie Hamilton, John Marino, and Jonas Siegenthaler. In addition, a promising prospect Like Hughes is expected to make the roster full-time. He showed promise late in the regular season and in the playoffs. The Jesper Bratt contract signals that he is part of the core group going forward. After making the playoffs and having a historic season for the franchise, the sky is the limit for this young group. Up next is the Timo Meier contract.
