It’s time for another edition of NHL rumours for the holiday weekend. The Vancouver Canucks missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs and are looking to make some changes. General manager Patrik Allvin will have to figure a way to get the most out of the lineup. Vancouver made some trades at the 2023 deadline, but one of those names could return. This edition looks at a possible Luke Schenn return to the Canucks.
All NHL rumours come from the original source and are subject to change.

Luke Schenn Return Possible
Rumour: The Donnie and Dhali Show talked to Schenn about returning to the club. Schenn is a Kelowna, British Columbia native and loved his time with the hometown club. The Leafs sent a third-round pick in this year’s NHL Draft in exchange for Schenn. He did like his time with the Canucks, but also enjoyed his time with the Maple Leafs.

Schenn did not rule out a return to either club, but he might get some looks from other clubs as a low-cost option. Toronto is going to make some changes when a new general manager takes over. However, Schenn may still be part of the new GM’s plans.
Can Luke Schenn Return Happen?
The Canucks do have Ethan Bear to re-sign and traded for Filip Hronek from the Detroit Red Wings. The 33-year-old made $875,000 per season in his last contract. He could come in at a similar number and that could put him in demand as a bottom-pair option.
Teams do have to maximize their dollars in the flat cap era. Schenn might be someone that teams look at if they wanted an experienced blueliner. He won’t be someone that provides that much offence, but he’ll be someone teams will look at. Schenn could have his pick of teams this off-season.
