It’s time for another edition of NHL rumours. The regular season is over and the Stanley Cup Playoffs are set to start. However, the NHL rumours aren’t going to start. The Philadelphia Flyers missed out on the post-season and changes may happen. Head coach John Tortorella may have a new lineup to work with. This may mean a Tony DeAngelo trade might be in the cards and this edition of NHL rumours looks into that.
All NHL rumours come from the original source and are subject to change.

Tony DeAngelo Trade Possible
Rumour: The Athletic’s Charlie O’Connor looked at Tortorella scratching the defenceman for the last five games. DeAngelo was not a part of the Flyers’ lineup at the end of the season. Tortorella even dressed only five defencemen for one of the games instead of dressing the controversial blueliner.
"He knows where he stands with me," John Tortorella said about Tony DeAngelo.

Do DeAngelo's recent scratches spell trouble for his Flyers future?https://t.co/PgHuk3qyPv

DeAngelo came over from the Carolina Hurricanes on a two-year, $10 million deal. However, Tortorella bristled at questions about DeAngelo’s status with the team. The 27-year-old recorded 11 goals and 31 assists in 70 games with the team. However, the Sewell, N.J. had his season end in quiet fashion.
Could a Tony DeAngelo Trade Happen?
The defenceman has always had some offensive talent. A couple seasons with the New York Rangers and Hurricanes showed that. However, he comes with some baggage from his off-ice comments.
The Flyers are going through a front office change after firing general manager Chuck Fletcher. Former Philadelphia player Daniel Briere has the inside track in getting the job. Trading DeAngelo might be somewhat of a problem, but getting $5 million off the books could be a help. DeAngelo does have some offensive skills and could help someone out. However, there’s always the lingering worry about some of his controversial behaviour.
Tortorella may ask whoever the new GM is to just deal DeAngelo and take care of things before they become to big of an issue. It may be the fresh start DeAngelo needs.
