NHL Rumours

Vitali Kravtsov Trade Demand

Rumour: Multiple sources have reported that the young Russian has asked for a trade. Kravtsov was given a one-game audition on the Blueshirts’ second line, but that didn’t take. He was seemingly benched by head coach Gerard Gallant. The former ninth-overall pick of the 2018 NHL Draft hasn’t been able to make his way into the lineup at any point in two seasons with the Rangers.

The 23-year-old has three goals and three assists in 28 games this season with the Rangers. He has been between Russia and North America ever since he’s been drafted. Kravtsov hasn’t been able to solidify a spot in the lineup and he knows that there may not be a spot for him in the lineup.

What a Vitali Kravtsov Trade Means

Kravtsov means another missed opportunity in developing a young forward. Players like Alexis Lafreniere, Kaapo Kakko and others haven’t lived up to the hype in the eyes of some people. Lias Andersson is also another forward that missed the mark for the Rangers.

Rangers general manager Chris Drury does want to make moves to bolster all parts of the lineup. Kravtsov could be traded for a draft pick or be part of a throw-in on a bigger deal. Whatever the case, it may be the last days for him on Broadway.
