NHL Predictions: Ottawa Senators vs New York Rangers

Nashville Predators vs New York Islanders

Head-to-Head: Predators 1 – 0 Islanders

The Nashville Predators took a 5-4 win in overtime the last time these two met. They sit at 10-9-2 and just came off of a huge win against the red-hot New Jersey Devils last night. However, that does mean they are on no rest, although the travel is as light as it can be.

The New York Islanders sit second in the Metro, only behind the Devils. They are at 15-9-0 and have passed expectations. A massive reason for that is the continued amazing play of Ilya Sorokin. Sorokin broke out last year but many wanted to see if it was legit. Well, he sure is proving it is. With a .933 save percentage so far into the season, he is arguably getting close to rivalling Igor Shesterkin and his amazing season last year.

Look for the Predators’ big energy win last night to lead to some fatigue in this one.

Prediction: New York wins 4-1.

Ottawa Senators vs New York Rangers

Head-to-Head: Senators 0 – 1 Rangers

For the NHL predictions featured game, we have Senators vs Rangers. This is the second part of a home-and-home between these two teams. The Rangers beat the Senators 3-1 on Wednesday night in Ottawa. Now, they face off again as both teams are desperate for points. Wednesday’s game was a close one where the Rangers came out on top. Ottawa had a good forecheck at times but their offence ultimately came up short.

Tonight, the Sens will need to clean up their defensive game a little bit if they want a chance at winning. All three goals were a direct result of a lousy play defensively or a brutal turnover. Look for that to be the focus on preventing tonight. For New York? They too will want to clean up on their own end a bit more. However, they also will want to expect a tighter game from Ottawa and realize the need to force things offensively.

This is NHL Predictions featured game because it involves two teams that were expecting to be solid and now fighting for points. It wouldn’t be a surprise if they have a tight one again. Look for a potential extra-time game tonight.

Prediction: Ottawa wins 3-2 in overtime.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs Winnipeg Jets

Head-to-Head: Jackets 0 – 0 Jets

The Columbus Blue Jackets have had a miserable season. Johnny Gaudreau brought good vibes but maybe unrealistic expectations. This team has been way over their heads most nights. Crucial injuries to players such as Zach Werenski hasn’t helped either.

On the other side, the Winnipeg Jets look like they are back to being a team to look out for in the Central. Connor Hellebuyck is once again leading the way and reminding people he is one of the top goalies in this league. But the offence is what has also gotten back to normal. Rick Bowness has this team playing better than in the past few years, look for that to continue.

Another reason to tune in is to watch Patrik Laine and Pierre-Luc Dubois play their former teams. Obviously, the two were swapped one-for-one in 2021, it is always fun to watch them play each other and compare how they look. Our NHL predictions for tonight wrap up with a Winnipeg win!

Prediction: Winnipeg wins 5-3.
