Boston Bruins superstar David Pastrnak has returned to Boston. With Bruins training camp kicking off this week, Pastrnak returns with some questions surrounding his future in Boston. It is no secret that the Bruins’ sniper becomes an unrestricted free agent after this season. Pastrnak met with Boston media Friday morning and answered some questions regarding his contract extension status.

Pastrnak answered many questions regarding the status of signing a contract extension with the Bruins. When asked if his number one priority is to stay here (Boston), Pastrnak replied: “Yeah, obviously we love it here. You know this our home, this is where I become a man”.  Then he was asked if there has been any progress regarding his contract situation, Pastrnak stated, ” My biggest thing was to get prepared for the season, you know physically wise, mentally wise obviously.” The Boston Bruins star added that “the motivation has been through the roof this year” He said, ” we have agents to worry about this stuff and the player can stay focused.”

No Time Table

When asked if he not want to want to deal with contract negotiations during the regular season, Pastrnak answered: “Well, to me personally, I still have the whole season to figure things out with (Sweeney)”.

The news provides Bruins fans with some much-needed optimism regarding Pastrnak staying with the team long-term. Recent reports had been pretty null on the sniper’s contract extension front.

Focussed on Upcoming Season

Pastrnak is looking forward to getting the season underway. He says he feels better coming in than in the past couple of seasons after undergoing hip surgery during the previous off-season. Hopefully, Pasta can provide the enormous offensive boost he is capable of to help Boston tread water early in the season. Expect a monster season from Pastrnak in his contract year. One thing is inevitable. Regardless of where his future contract is signed; the Boston Bruins star will be getting paid.
