Head-to-Head: Coyotes 1-0 Senators

With only one game on the day, the featured game of the day is the Arizona Coyotes vs Ottawa Senators. While the sound of this game might not be overly exhilarating. However, this could be quite an exciting game to watch. The last time these teams met back on March 5th, Arizona came away winners in a barn burner of a game, winning 8-5 on the day.

While it shouldn’t be expected to be that way again, this should still be a good game. For the Senators, they finally found a reliable goaltending option in Anton Forsberg. Despite the fact that he had a poor outing against Chicago, he has been mostly very reliable. He only gave up three-or-less goals in nine straight games prior to last Friday.

The Achilles heel for the Senators continues to be their inability to score. They currently sit 25th in the NHL in scoring. Ottawa will need Tim Stutzle and Josh Norris to continue their respective scoring streaks if they hope to get anything out of this game.

As for the Coyotes, they have been a surprise performer in their last 10 games going 6-4-0. This accounts for a third of their season’s wins during that stretch. They have seen an offensive explosion from Nick Schmaltz, who had a seven-point game against the Senators the last time they met. That game was followed by a four-point game against the Detroit Red Wings.

Schmaltz has led the way in a stretch of games where the Coyotes beat the Colorado Avalanche and the Toronto Maple Leafs. If Schmaltz and company can continue to score, and goaltender Karel Vejmelka can continue to be reliable, this is going to be a tough one for the Senators.

Prediction: Coyotes win 4-3
