Vancouver Canucks vs Winnipeg Jets

Welcome back to another day of NHL Predictions. Each day, we will take a look at the games that are happening and give our predictions for each one. This is the early edition of predictions, be sure to check out the late games on the site too. As well, we also offer a featured game of the day, which is a game that we think is must-watch TV. Today’s featured game is the Vancouver Canucks vs Winnipeg Jets.

NHL Predictions Including Vancouver Canucks vs Winnipeg Jets

Carolina Hurricanes vs Florida Panthers

Head-to-Head: Hurricanes 1 – 1 Panthers

Two points separate these two teams in the standings for second in the Central. The Panthers are also tied for first but have played one extra game too. Making this a game both teams will desperately want to win. It should be a good one as well as it is two of the hottest teams in the Central. Both of the first two meetings between these teams have been incredibly close and there doesn’t feel like a reason this will change. It will be interesting to see if the Panthers keep rolling with the hot hand in Chris Driedger or do they go back to the well-paid Sergei Bobrovsky?

Prediction: Hurricanes win 4-3

Calgary Flames vs Ottawa Senators

Head-to-Head: Flames 1 – 1 Senators

This is the third straight time these two teams meet before they go out West and play again in Calgary later this week. The first two parts in the battle of the Tkachuk’s has been rather boring, to be totally honest. With two blowouts, one going either way, look for game three of the series to be much more entertaining. The Flames could use Jacob Markstrom back soon as David Rittich has faced a heavy workload as of late. For Ottawa, they live and die by Matt Murray. If he’s playing well, they have a chance. If he plays like he did Saturday, they’re screwed from the start.

Prediction: Flames win 5-3

Vancouver Canucks vs Winnipeg  Jets

Head-to-Head: Canucks 1 – 2 Jets

The Vancouver Canucks have been stumbling all season long after getting off to a very rough start. And while that is true, it is still the NHL Predictions featured game of the night as there is potential for some high-flying offence both ways. The Jets are one of the hottest teams in the NHL currently, and Pierre-Luc Dubois is finding his fit with his new team. That makes them extremely dangerous as Kyle Connor, Blake Wheeler, and crew are still putting up tons of points. In net, Connor Hellebuyck is having another Vezina-like season. Overall, it is fair to say the Jets are likely the favourites entering this game.

However, that doesn’t mean you should count the Canucks out. They are a feisty team that has shown in the past they have the talent. While it hasn’t been there this year, they still have some really good pieces that can be dangerous at any moment. Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser, and Quinn Hughes are just a few of them too. What they really need is one of Brayden Holtby or Thatcher Demko to step up and be the rock that Markstrom was last year. Even if they’re not as good as Markstrom, they just need to keep the Canucks in the game. If that happens, they certainly have a chance.

Prediction: Jets win 3-2
