Puck Talk Live Podcast: Episode 48 – 2020-21 Defenseman Rankings

LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE!

On Episode 48 of the Puck Talk Live Podcast, Raffi and Noah are joined by good friend and LWOH writer Jonathan Lidskin. First, the three hosts discuss some signings, how those players will impact their teams. Then, the boys talk about the surgeries of Ben Bishop, Tyler Seguin, and Gustav Nyquist. The length of their recovery and how that will conflict with the start of the season is discussed. A potential start date of February 1st will mean those players will likely be out for a few weeks of the season. To add on, a potentially shortened season increases the importance of every game.

In the second part of the episode, the boys review the NHL Network’s 2020-21 defenseman rankings. All three agreed that the list is wrong in most spots, even though there were some disagreements. They also discuss players left off the list, such as Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Aaron Ekblad, and if they should be in the top 20. To end the show, discussion about expanding the defencemen’s trophies occurs, including adding a trophy for the best defensive defenceman.

Who are Logan, Raffi, and Noah? Put simply, they are three high school friends who bonded over their strong love for hockey and decided to share their thoughts with the world via podcast. All three are die-hard Blackhawks fans, but Logan also cheers for the Hurricanes and Raffi also roots for the Bruins. You can find Logan and Noah’s articles on https://lastwordonsports.com/hockey/
