Chicago Blackhawks Comic Caption for 2019-20

Patrick Kane

What more can be said about star player Patrick Kane? How about 33 goals and 51 assists for 84 points in 70 games? Kane also tallied eight power play goals and 15 assists. While he didn’t quite match his magnificent season a year ago when he had 44 goals and 66 assists good for 110 points, he’s still a stud of an offensive player.

His career of 13 years in the Windy City show some remarkable stats. He has played in 973 games with 389 goals and 633 assists good for 1,022 points. That means he averages 1.05 points per game.

The 5′-10″, 177 pound forward who hails from Buffalo, New York is 31-years-old and seems to be improving with age. When he gets to the playoffs he’s dangerous there also. He has 123 points in 127 games in the nine years he’s participated in the postseason for Chicago.

It’s not certain what else Kane can do to help his team but he will be tough to hold off the scoreboard when the Blackhawks face the Dallas Stars in the play-in series. Kane is a true sniper but also an adept playmaker.

Good luck Dallas.

Jonathan Toews

The captain of the ‘Hawks Jonathan Toews saw his production dip a bit this season. His point-per-game average fell from 0.99 last season to 0.86 this season. He had 35 goals in 2018-19 and only 18 this season. Still, his production is nothing to dismiss. He’s also the leader on and off the ice of his team. He only registered one power play goal, which is his lowest output in his career. You don’t want to face him in the faceoff circle since he will more than likely win the draw. He had an insane 57.3 percent success rate.

Both Toews and Kane have three years remaining on their eight-year $84 million contracts which has really limited what the team can do signing players. Toews is not 32-years-old. It’s time for younger players like Dylan Strome, Kirby Dach, and Alex DeBrincat to take over soon.

Jonathan Toews has served the team well, and still has some good years ahead of himself. He’s had a good career over 13 years in Chicago. His career numbers are impressive. With 943 games played, he has tallied 345 goals and 470 assists for 815 points. His career shooting percentage is 13.9 percent.

While Chicago didn’t appear to have even a slight change to make the playoffs, the 24-team play-in let them squeak in. Toews is going to try to lead them to victory against the tough Edmonton Oilers.

Here’s our Chicago Blackhawks comic caption for Jonathan Toews.

Dylan Strome

Dylan Strome found new success once he was traded to the Blackhawks in November of 2018. Last season he collected 17 goals and 34 assists in 51 games. In the same number of games this season he dropped to just 12 goals and 26 assists.

The former Arizona Coyotes third overall pick in 2015 just couldn’t seem to get it done in Arizona. Once he got to Chicago, things started to happen for him. He is a talented centre with excessive promise, it just took him a while longer to develop. Strome becomes a restricted free agent after this season’s conclusion. No doubt the team will want to re-sign him. The problem is there’s another good young player named Dominik Kubalik who also needs a new contract. The team may only have about $5 million in cap space, so things could get interesting on the financial side of the team.

Strome has performed well and if he shows up in the play-in series he will earn himself a new contract and be an integral part of the team’s future.
