Vegas Golden Knights Re-Sign William Carrier

William Carrier

The Vegas Golden Knights have re-signed restricted free agent winger William Carrier to a two-year deal worth $1.45 million with an AAV of $725,000 per year. This deal carries him through the 2019-20 season. He is scheduled to be a restricted free agent with arbitration rights at that time.

William Carrier Stays a Golden Knight

Over his two-year NHL career Carrier has played for the Buffalo Sabres and Vegas Golden Knights. He has scored six career goals and five career assists for 11 points in 78 games. Carrier was drafted in the second round, 57th overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues.

Last season, he scored a goal and added two assists for three points in 37 games. He also added 19 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 52.9 percent Corsi with a relative Corsi of +1.4 percent. He played in 10 Stanley Cup Playoff games for the Knights but failed to record a point. This is Carrier’s first contact after he signed his entry-level deal in 2013.

What This Means for the Future

At 6-foot-2 and 212 pounds, Carrier is known for his physicality. Last year with the Knights, Carrier had trouble staying healthy as he missed time in the regular season with knee and upper body injuries and missed the first 10 games of the playoffs with an undisclosed injury. On the left wing, he will provide a big body on the bottom six for Vegas if he is able to crack the team next year.
