Evander Kane could have a suit against him dropped, but only on the promise that he avoids legal trouble for the next six months.

A New York State judge is prepared to dismiss all charges against Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane, on the promise that he stays out of future trouble. The-25-year-old winger will need to avoid any legal complications for the next sixth months. If he does not than the dismissal could be overturned. The judge made the ruling on the recommendation of the prosecutor, and with the consent of the alleged victims. Ashley Rowe of WKBW had the news late last week.

Kane was originally arrested in July after allegedly grabbing three women by the neck and hair, in separate incidents at a bar in Buffalo. He was removed from the club by bouncers, and charged with a misdemeanor for disorderly conduct, harassment, and noncriminal harassment.

Kane has amassed 20 goals and 35 points playing with the Sabres in 65 games last season. He joined Buffalo after a trade from the Winnipeg Jets where he totaled 109 goals and 222 points in 362 games.

Kane is currently out of the Sabres lineup due to a rib injury he suffered in the first game of the season, when he crashed hard into the boards after being checked by Montreal Canadiens defenceman Alexei Emelin.  He is expected to miss at least the next two weeks.
