Manchester United are going to kick off the Ruben Amorim era when they travel to face Ipswich Town on November 24. There are certain additions that they must make to start competing at the very top and it seems like the Red Devils are looking to bolster the left-back area of the team.

Manchester United To Prioritize Left-Back Signing In 2025
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester United are already planning to sign a new left-back in 2025, because of a lack of depth in that department in the team. This is mostly due to Luke Shaw not playing a match for them since February 2024 and Tyrell Malacia having last played a competitive game for the club in the 2023/24 season.

Romano also adds that the Red Devils are assessing more than three separate candidates as their big left-back signing in 2025. He notes that it remains to be seen if United make a move in January, which will be Amorim’s first window as the club’s head coach, or delay it until the 2025 summer transfer window. They are already being linked to a very interesting left-back option.
Manchester United Eyeing Possible Davies Signing
The Red Devils are eyeing some quality options for that left-back spot and it has been reported that they have an interest in signing Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies next year. The Canadian full-back’s current contract with the Bundesliga side is going to expire at the end of June, 2025 and there is a chance he will leave as a free agent to venture on a new journey in his career.

Manchester United reportedly consider the 24-year-old to be a ‘perfect piece’ as there is a belief he can excel in Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation, which encourages attacking wing-backs as the wide players. The Canadian international has also been linked to Real Madrid, which means the Premier League side faces a difficult task to sign him, but he could prove to be a great get for a free transfer.
