Manchester United Predicted Lineup vs Leicester City for November 9

Manchester United Predicted Lineup vs Leicester City

Manchester United return to Premier League action at Old Trafford on Sunday, November 10 (Kick off 2PM GMT). They host Steve Cooper’s Leicester City and look to build on a Europa League victory over Greek outfit PAOK that saw them extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to three games. Here is the Manchester United predicted lineup for the clash.

How Manchester United Have Lined-up Recently

With interim manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy continuing with a 4-2-3-1 formation since compatriot Erik ten Hag was sacked last month, André Onana has been a constant in goal.

A back four of Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez and Diogo Dalot has generally been the first-choice combination, with the likes of Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof deputising when needed.

In midfield, Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte have begun to form a partnership, with Christian Eriksen rotating in as a ball-playing option in the absence of the injured Kobbie Mainoo.

Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford have been the regular attacking midfield combination, although the performance of Amad Diallo in Thursday’s win over PAOK is making the case for starting him increasingly hard to ignore.

Rasmus Hojlund is the regular number 9, with Joshua Zirkzee failing to build on a run of starts in the Dane’s absence at the beginning of the season.

Manchester United Recent Form and Tactics

United are unbeaten in three games in all competitions following the worst start to a Premier League season in the club’s history that resulted in Erik ten Hag being sacked following the 2-1 defeat to West Ham; the Red Devils have not hesitated to adopt a more direct approach under Van Nistelrooy, rather than the often laboured build-up play under Ten Hag that highlighted United’s current lack of midfield ingenuity. With players slowly returning from injury, incoming coach Ruben Amorim will hope to be able to count on most of his squad when he takes the reins at Old Trafford on Monday, November 11.

Manchester United Injuries to Consider

Thursday night’s two-goal hero Amad Diallo faces a late fitness test after picking up a knock, whilst Kobbie Mainoo (Thigh), Harry Maguire (Calf), Tyrell Malacia (Knee) and Lény Yoro (Ankle) are expected back following the forthcoming international break. Luke Shaw (Calf) has returned to team training and could be available at the end of the month.
